Overview

The ships presented here have been designed using the Naval Architect Manual included in the Star Cruiser boxed set. Ships listed above that do not have a write-up below have been published by others and are not available here.

Neumarkt-class Armored Cruiser (CA)

Original Date of Design: 30 May 2296
First Example Laid Down: 18 Jul 2297
First Example Completed: 18 May 2399
Fleets of Service: Freihafen

Following the decision to become an independent nation after the War of German Reunification, Freihafen found itself a nation without a space naval presence. Turning to her biggest ally, France, the fledgling nation purchased a few Aconit-class frigates and some fighters to fill the initial gap. At the same time, the nation looked to its own industrial might to produce locally constructed warships. Several designs were put forth in the bidding process, but in the end, a design for an armored cruiser was selected. This size of warship was deemed to be of sufficient size to protect the nation while not incurring the wraith of a still bitter Germany.

Star Cruiser Ship Status Sheets

CA Neumarkt Ship Status Sheet - for use with standard rules

CA Neumarkt Ship Status Sheet - for use with SC-R01 Alternative Component Hit Values

Notes:

  1. Turret arc values are (counter clockwise from left center): 1 bow, 2 starboard bow quarter, 3 starboard broadside, 4 starboard aft quarter, 5 aft, 6 port aft quarter, 7 port broadside, 8 port bow quarter.
  2. 2. Lander require five turns to launch or recover per deck – hanger decks are considered cramped.
  3. Hull Hit Capacity has been determined using the formulas presented by KevinC on the 2300AD Mailing List on 10 Oct 1997, where the standard calculation has been modified by the use of the cube root of the armor level instead of armor level to the first power. Therefore: Hull Hits = Material Volume * (Armor level)^(1/3). This makes more realistic hull hit capacities.
